Netaji Nagar cylinder-leak fire

Two men suffered burns in a fire from a suspected cylinder leak in an apartment on the fourth floor of a six-storey residential building on NSC Bose Road on Wednesday. Police said Ashutosh Prasad Singh, 62, and his son Nirupam Singh, 33, were caught in the flames from the kitchen fire around 5.15am when they were asleep. Two fire tenders doused the flames. They were admitted to a hospital along EM Bypass

Adamas MoU

Adamas University signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kathmandu University in a recently held symposium, Higher Education & Realisation of Sustainable Development: Paving the Way Forward. The event was organised by the state higher education department, in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII)

Fake account cuffs

The city police arrested a 29-year-old man, Ganesh Lal, from Udaipur for allegedly creating a fake account on Facebook in the name of Bengal director general of police Manoj Malviya. Lal was sent to police remand till November 17

Cop transfer

IPS officer Sankha Shubhra Chakrabarty who was posted as joint commissioner (crime), Kolkata police, has been transferred to the post of deputy inspector general of police, CID. A government order issued on Wednesday announced the transfer. No one was appointed joint commissioner (crime), Kolkata police, till Wednesday night.
