  • 10am:- Procession from Nonapukur tram depot on AJC Bose Road towards EPFO office, 44 Park Street via AJC Bose Road
  • 11am: Meeting at NIS
  • 12 noon: Procession from Sealdah railway station complex towards Matangini Hazra statue via Sealdah flyover, Moulali crossing, SN Banerjee Road, Dorina crossing, etc
  • 2pm:- Procession from Raja Subodh Mullick Square will move towards American Center, 38A Jawaharlal Nehru Road US Consulate and Embassy, 5/1 Ho Chi Minh Sarani via Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Road – SN Banerjee Road – Dorina crossing – Jawaharlal Nehru Road

JU resumes PhD entry after teachers protest

Jadavpur University, which had withheld admission to its PhD programme in the arts faculty after an objection from the officiating vice-chancellor, has resumed the process. The move comes after some teachers threatened an indefinite agitation. The dean of the arts faculty, Malabika Ray, issued a notice late on Tuesday announcing: “This is a further clarification to the notice issued on 17/11/23. The lists of the provisionally selected candidates will remain unchanged. The dates of admission will be declared as soon as possible.”

Varsities sign MoU

Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and Jadavpur University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for academic collaboration as part of the Bengal Global Business Sum- mit that concluded on Wednesday.

JU registrar Snehamanju Basu said this will be a collaboration with special emphasis on UG research and other joint research programmes, exchange of teachers, students and information.
