Metro tickets
Metro tickets that enable passengers to switch between corridors — which are set to see the beginning of commercial run — will be sold only from counters, the carrier said. Commercial services on the Howrah Maidan-Esplanade stretch of East-West Metro (Green Line), New Garia-Ruby stretch of the New Garia-airport Metro (Orange Line) and the Joka-Majerhat stretch of the Joka-Esplanade Metro (Purple Line) will start on Friday morning. For now, the Purple Line is not integrated with the other lines. Passengers can also switch between corridors with smart cards.
Bratya meets AG
Education minister Bratya Basu met attorney-general R. Venkatramani at Raj Bhavan to discuss the appointment of full-term vice-chancellors at state-aided universities. The Supreme Court asked the AG to intervene to resolve differences between Raj Bhavan and the state government over the appointment of full-term VCs.
