Jadavpur University teachers protest
A section of Jadavpur University teachers will observe a ceasework on Thursday to protest the varsity s decision to extend the tenure of the heads of several departments beyond the stipulated period citing the ensuing visit of a National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team. The university recently extended the tenure of the heads and deans to enable final preparations for the visit. Interim vice-chancellor Bhaskar Gupta denied there was anything wrong with the university s decision.
