Metro Railway meeting
Dinesh Kumar, additional member (land and amenities), Railway Board, conducted a meeting at Metro Rail Bhavan on Wednesday. Apart from Metro Railway officials, representatives of Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation and Railway Vikas Nigam Limited attended the meeting. The KMRC is the implementing agency of the east-west corridor (Green Line) and the RVNL is constructing the New Garia-airport (Orange Line) and Joka-Esplanade (Purple Line) corridors. "Kumar reviewed the progress of land acquisition," said a Metro official. He also inspected the Howrah and Esplanade stations of East-West Metro.
Exam dates
The state higher secondary council announced on Wednesday that the first-semester exams of those who have been admitted to Class XI will start on September 13. The theory papers will end on September 30.
