Kolkata Traffic Police have posted a list of programmes that might affect the city traffic on Sunday (24.9.2023)
- 1pm: Procession from Sealdah Railway Station Complex near Fountain to Y-Channel, Esplanade. Likely route via Moulali - SN Banerjee Road - Dorina crossing. To be followed by a short meeting.
- 1pm- 5pm: Programme in front of Victoria Memorial, south gate, opposite SSKM Hospital
- 2pm: Programme at Dhano Dhanyo auditorium
New trains
Nine new Vande Bharat trains will be virtually flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday afternoon. One of them will be between Howrah and Patna and another between Howrah and Ranchi. Sunday's runs will be ceremonial.
The commercial runs of the Patna-Howrah Vande Bharat will start on September 26 and that of the Ranchi-Howrah Vande Bharat on September 27, said a railway release.
Both trains will run six days a week. The Patna-Howrah train, expected to take a little less than seven hours to complete one leg of the journey, will be off on Wednesday, said a railway official. The Ranchi-Howrah train, which will not run on Tuesday, is expected to take just over seven hours for one leg, the official said.
