Curtailed Metro service on Lakshmi Puja
Metro Railway will run 188 trains on the north-south corridor on Saturday, a public holiday for Lakshmi Puja. The usual Saturday count is 234 trains. The timings of the first and last trains will remain the same, the carrier said. At 6.50am, the first train will leave Dum Dum for Kavi Subhash (New Garia).
The first train for Dakshineswar will leave Kavi Subhash at 6.50am. The first Kavi Subhash-bound train will leave Dakshineswar at 7am. The last train will leave Dakshineswar at 9.28pm. The last train will leave Dum Dum at 9.40pm. From Kavi Subhash, the last Dakshineswar-bound train will leave at 9.30pm and the last Dum Dum-bound train at 9.40pm.
Kids at Eden Gardens
Some of the children from government-run shelter homes will be at the Eden Gardens on Saturday to watch Bangladesh play The Netherlands in the cricket World Cup. The Cricket Association of Bengal responded to a request from the West Bengal Commission for Protection of Child Rights and gave 80 complimentary tickets to the commission.
