IIT Kharagpur death
The mother of the deceased IIT Kharagpur student, Faizan Ahmed, left for Assam with the remains of her son on Friday evening so he could be buried again in Dibrugarh.
The remains were exhumed on May 23 for a second post-mortem. Rehana Ahmed, accompanied by an officer of Kharagpur Town police station, left for Howrah station around 4pm with the remains that were preserved at the Kolkata police morgue on Chittaranjan Avenue.
Fraud arrest
Abhishek Singh Shekhawat, 22, was arrested in Rajasthan on Friday for allegedly being part of a racket that used to make video calls on WhatsApp and extort money from victims by blackmailing them with their morphed photographs. Shekhawat is the second person to have been arrested in connection with the case, which was reported at Golf Green police station in September last year.
