Metro trains for TET

Metro Railway will run special services on December 24 for the benefit of teaching job aspirants who will write the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET). On that day, 234 trains (117 Up and 117 Down) will run instead of the usual 130 on the Blue Line (between New Garia and Dakshineswar), said a railway official.

Jadavpur University committee

Jadavpur University has constituted a students grievance redressal committee following University Grants Commission (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023. This is to simplify and improve the mechanism for handling student grievances, said a JU official. An eight-member committee has been constituted with JU registrar Snehamanju Basu as the convener.

IIT convocation

President Droupadi Murmu will be the chief guest for the 69th convocation of IIT Kharagpur on December 18. All students graduating in the 2022-23 session have been requested to reach IIT by December 17, said an official.

International curriculum in VI, VII at Modern High School

Modern High School International will introduce an international curriculum in Classes VI and VII from the next academic session starting in April. The school has been offering the international curriculum from Classes VIII to XII. With the addition of the two new classes in 2024, the school will be offering the international curriculum right from middle school.

The school started with the IBDP (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme) in Classes XI and XII in 2018 and the IGCSE for Classes IX and X of the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) in 2020. It added Class VIII in 2023.
