Meter box fire at Southern Avenue
A fire broke out in the meter box on the ground floor of a 14-storey building on Southern Avenue on Sunday afternoon, police said. One fire tender was pressed into action to douse the flames. No one was trapped or injured, the police said.
Body found at Golf Green
A 35-year-old woman was found unconscious in her rented apartment in the Golf Green area on Sunday. Police said the door had to be broken to enter the apartment where Shreya Chakraborty lived. She was taken to MR Bangur Hospital, where she was declared dead.
