More time to apply at RKM colleges

The two Ramakrishna Mission colleges that started receiving online applications before the education department had issued the undergraduate admission notification, have extended the last date for the submission of online forms. A revised schedule issued by the college says: “Online filling up of application form for admission will close on July 1”.

2 held with heroin worth Rs 40 lakh

The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) and the 159th battalion of the BSF conducted a joint raid in Malda on Saturday and seized around 400 grams of heroin worth Rs 40 lakh and some other substances suspected to be used to make narcotics.

Rath Yatra

Utkala, the cultural wing of Sri Jagannath Seva Samiti, will celebrate Rath Yatra and Odisha Festival from June 20 to June 28. The festivities will start on June 20 with a colourful yatra from Kidderpore Jagannath Temple to Northern Park, Bhowanipore, where the deities will stay till the morning of June 28. A number of performance will take place every day during the festival.

Footpath repair

Kolkata Municipal Corporation will repair the footpath along BB Ganguly Street, between its crossings with Chittaranjan Avenue and Phears Lane, which was dug up for repairs of underground utility lines. The work will cost about Rs 2.99 lakh. The civic body has invited bids for the repairs.
