Fire breaks out at IIT hostel
A fire broke out in the common room of Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Hall of Residence at IIT Kharagpur around 2.10am on Sunday, said an official in the dean of students office. Three fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control by 4.30am, said an IIT official. No one was injured in the fire.
Railway boss
Anil Kumar Mishra assumed the charge of general manager, South Eastern Railway, on Saturday, said a railway spokesperson. Mishra is an officer of the Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers batch of 1987 and joined the railways in 1989. Prior to this, he was additional general manager of North Eastern Railway, Gorakhpur, said the spokesperson.
