3 Covid cases
Three women who tested positive for Covid are under treatment at the Beleghata Infectious Diseases Hospital, sources said. A doctor at the hospital said these women had tested positive while they were under treatment for other ailments in different hospitals. All of them were stable, the doctor said.
Kolkata Municipal Corporation attendance
Kolkata Municipal Corporation will start biometric attendance for its employees in its headquarters and a few other offices on Tuesday. An official said the trial for biometric attendance started a few months back but signing registers was also continuing. From Tuesday, only biometric attendance will be recorded in these offices.
East-West Metro inspected
The general manager of Metro Railway, P. Uday Kumar Reddy, inspected the Howrah Maidan-Esplanade stretch of the East-West Metro corridor (Green Line) on Sunday. Reddy was accompanied by senior officials of the Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation, the implementing agency of the corridor. The stretch between Howrah Maidan and Esplanade was supposed to have been opened for commercial run by the end of 2023. Till Sunday, there was no formal communication on the possible date of the opening of the stretch.
