Feted for cracking exams for govt jobs

Over 1,000 students who cracked various state and central government job examinations were felicitated by the institute that trained them. The 15th convocation of RICE Education, which prepares candidates for competitive exams for jobs in central and state governments, was held on Sunday at the Adamas Knowledge City in Barasat. In his opening speech, RICE group chairman Samit Ray emphasised the significance of patience, hard work and dedication to attain success. At least 4,000 present and former students of the institute attended the programme.

Former UGC chairman V.S. Chauhan was also among the guests. The convocation conferred degrees and medals upon 1,256 students. The university also bestowed honorary degrees on C.N. Raghupati, head of Infosys India business; Minu Budhia, psychotherapist; Tarun Praharaj, cardiologist; and film-maker Goutam Ghose.
