Digital clocks at Metro entry and exit points

The Kolkata Metro Railway, in collaboration with Ruby General Hospital, has decided to install digital display clocks at the entry and exit gates of all the Metro stations.

In a press release on Monday, the Metro authorities noted, “Metro Railway has recently signed an agreement with M/s Ruby General Hospital Ltd for setting up digital display clocks at the entry/exit gates of all the 26 stations of the north-south corridor as well as at all the seven Metro stations of east­-west Metro. These clocks will also display live temperature.”

The digital clocks have already been installed at Maidan and Rabindra Sadan Metro stations. Other stations will be added in a phased manner.

In a bid to increase amenities for the commuters, Kolkata Metro Railway has taken several initiatives lately.

For the refreshment of the commuters tea and coffee vending machines will be installed at the Metro stations, the carrier authorities had announced last week.

Blood collection centres for pathological tests will be set up at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Central Metro stations for the benefit of the commuters, the Metro authorities had stated in a press release also last week.
