A man who had accidentally left behind a bag containing gold jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh and an expensive watch in an app cab got it back with help from officers of Lake Town police station.
Sandip Jaiswal had booked the cab from his home in Howrah to reach a banquet hall in Lake Town, a senior officer of the Bidhannagar Commissionerate said.
According to Jaiswal, he realised his bag was missing shortly after entering the banquet hall.
“He sought help from the Lake Town police station. Jaiswal could give the officers the driver’s contact number,” the officer said.
The Lake Town police then called the driver and asked him to come to the police station. “Fortunately, he was nearby and reached the police station soon. The bag was found in the cab and later handed over to Jaiswal,” the officer said.
