Director-general of state police Manoj Malviya on Tuesday launched the Khoya-Paya portal-app at Bhabani Bhawan to improve the process of identification of missing persons and unidentified bodies. Anyone can register with the portal and provide information about missing or sighted child/person, without waiting to complete the legal formalities. The information supplied by the citizen(s) would be made available for public view after quick moderation, thereby saving the valuable time

Metro Railway work at BBD Bag has gained pace. On February 4, Calcutta High Court had directed the Railway Vikas Nigam Limited to commence with the Joka-BBD Bag Metro construction in the Maidan area. The RVNL, in its plea, had stated earlier that the construction work in the route was delayed as it had to wait for Army clearance

Visitors at the book fair observed a minute of silence to pay tribute to the victims of the quake that rattled Turkey and Syria. A second earthquake of 5.4 magnitude jolted Turkey on Tuesday. This was the fifth tremor to have rocked Turkey in two days as it grapples with huge devastation caused by the 7.8 magnitude earthquake on Monday. The death toll has now touched 5,000, as per the latest update from the news agency reports
