Braithwaite conducted a press meet on Wednesday at a five-star hotel in Kolkata to announce the company's performance and future plans. Chairman and managing director Yatish Kumar briefed the media about the performance of the company and its plans ahead. Braithwaite was established in Kolkata in 1913; subsequently nationalised in 1976 as a wholly owned Govt. of India Undertaking, currently under administrative control of the Ministry of Railways. Its product range includes manufacture of railway wagons, repairing/retro fitment of old wagons, structural steel bridges including civil jobs, manufacture of wagon components, O&M of railway workshop, crane manufacturing & services. It recently ventured into container manufacturing in line with ‘Atma nirbhar Bharat’, redevelopment of railway stations, installation of solar power projects etc
