In its 49th year, the members of Chandernagore Kanai Lal Pally Club organised a pet-friendly Jagaddharti Puja. Enthused pet owners interacted and also clicked photographs with their pets.

Accompanied by his wife, Income-Tax officer, Mridul Sinha, drove in from Baidyabati with two black Labradors, Pantua and Laddoo. “I am so thrilled and hail the efforts of the organisers for having planned such a wonderful initiative,” he said. Jagaddhatri puja this year began on October 30 and Akshaya Navami will be celebrated on November 2. The festival is mainly celebrated in Chandernagore, Krishnagore, Nadia and Kolkata after Durga Puja and Kali Puja in the month of Kartik
The Kanai Lal Pally puja, being organised on an 11,000 sq ft ground, has several volunteers to guide visitors. Even though the puja theme is not related to pets or animals, the club hopes to encourage visitors to take care of strays around their home
