IIHM announces 8th edition of Young Chef Olympiad 2022

Over 45 countries will contest in the event which will be conducted virtually

Participants from over 45 countries will come online to contest in the 8th IIHM International Young Chef Olympiad 2022 over the next six days.

The event was declared open on Sunday. Suborno Bose, chairman and chief mentor, IIHM, and chairman, Young Chef Olympiad, said: “The pandemic was creating all kinds of panic, difficult times for the young people. Colleges, universities all over the world were closed and we were not sure whether we could hold the event. I am so excited to see that students from over 45 countries will contest in the event.” David Foskett, chairman, panel of judges, Young Chef Olympiad, said food links all, regardless of the background, culture, religion or the place where one lives.

“This competition is about uniting the world, uniting the youth... in peace, in harmony, in understanding, in knowledge,” Foskett said.
