West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education is likely to review the schedule of the Class 12 board examination which is supposed to be held offline from April 2.
The review will be done to avoid any possible clash with the dates of medical and engineering entrance tests, a senior official said.
Council president Chiranjeeb Bhattacharya told PTI that many higher secondary students sit for joint entrance exams conducted at the national level, and the council is, therefore, contemplating a revision of the schedule of the board exams.
"Nothing has been finalised yet. We will explore and evaluate these factors and pass on the recommendations to the state government. The final call is likely to be made next week”, he said.
Bhattacharya, however, said any change in dates of the Class 12 board examination will not be hasty and arbitrary.
This year, for the first time in the exams’ history, students will write their higher secondary papers at ‘home centres’ — their own schools.
The theory papers of the HS exams are supposed to start on April 2 and continue till April 20.
