Das was the founder-president and Bose was the founder-secretary of the welfare home.

The Sevasram runs a free primary school open to all the marginalised children in the neighbourhood.

“We focus on vocational courses to empower our boys. As part of the centenary celebrations, we are conducting a six-month computer training programme on our new campus on Mahesh Choudhury Lane in Bhowanipore,” said Subhendra Maulik, secretary of the Sevasram.

“A six-month electric motor winding course has already been completed on the Sarat Bose Road campus,” Maulik said.

On Saturday, Supreme Court judge Justice Aniruddha Bose was the chief guest at the centenary celebrations of the home.

Swami Kamalasthananda, the principal of Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Centenary College, Rahara, was the “distinguished guest of the day” at Saturday’s programme.
