Cops have launched a hunt for him.

The arrested 22 people belong to two separate groups of Trinamul Congress workers in Beleghata, the police said.

On Monday, the arrested were produced at the Sealdah court and remanded in police custody till May 6.

“We will separately question the members of both the warring factions to understand what triggered Sunday’s clash in Beleghata,” said a senior police officer.

Residents of the area said the two warring groups that clashed on Sunday wereled by two local leaders, including Raju Burman and Alok Das.

Naskar had said on Sunday that some of those who switched allegiance from BJP to Trinamul in Beleghata were responsible for vandalising his office. Windowpanes, chairs and tables in his office had been smashed.
