Five people on two-wheelers died in four road accidents across the city between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning. At least two were without helmets, police said.

“After pedestrians, the maximum number of people who die in road accidents are two-wheeler riders. We always insist on helmets. This is why the fine for not wearing a helmet has been increased to Rs 1,000,” said an officer.
