The Mainland-Sambaran Cricket Academy is planning to send select members of its Under-15 team, which recently won the annual All Bengal Under-15 Cricket Tournament 2022, to train at two of the top cricketing academies in the UK.

This was announced by Anjan Chatterjee, the head of Speciality Restaurants that runs Mainland China, at a felicitation of the winning team over lunch at the Gurusaday Road outlet of Mainland China on Thursday.

The two cricket academy schools in the UK are Pro Coach Yorkshire Cricket in Yorkshire (Scotland) and Pure First Class Cricket Academy in Berkshire.

This year, 23 teams from the state participated in the All Bengal Under 15 Cricket Tournament, being held for the past 22 years.

After a month and a half of matches, the Mainland-Sambaran Cricket Academy won the crown by beating Howrah Swamiji Sangha in the final on April 3.

Ayush Ghosh, the vice-captain of the Mainland-Sambaran Cricket Academy’s under-15 team, was declared the man of the series.

“There are many promising players in this team. Our captain Agnishwar Das leads Bengal’s under-16 team. Many of our players are playing for Bengal,” said veteran cricketer Sambaran Banerjee, the director of the Mainland-Sambaran Cricket Academy.
