A first-year computer engineering student was arrested on Monday for allegedly raping a classmate at his rented accommodation in Rajarhat, police said.

The student was picked up from his rented flat on the basis of a complaint lodged by the father of the 19-year-old woman with Eco Park police station.

The woman had gone to her friend’s flat on Friday where she was raped by him, said an officer.

“The woman’s father in his complaint mentioned that her friend had raped her in his flat,” he said.
