‘Elevate Your Vision’ to provide free cataract operation to needy patients

This World Health Day on April 7, AM Medical Centre Kolkata, YFLO and Emami Foundation joined hands for a noble cause – to provide cataract surgeries for the underprivileged free of cost through ‘Elevate Your Vision’. These surgeries will be performed by a team of expert ophthalmologists from the AM Medical Centre which is known for its team of doctors in fields of eye –care, dentistry and cosmetic gynaecology. The initiative aims to provide quality healthcare to all deserving using the most up-to- date technology and techniques.

Moon Chattaraj, director AM Medical Centre is herself a renowned prosthodontist and implantologist. She commented on the occasion, “Our motto is to help all those despite their socio-economic status as we believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare. Our vision is to help people and through these philanthropic acts we commit to making a positive impact on the health and well-being of our community.”

The Emami Foundation has through its CSR initiatives always tried to make impactful actions in the community. Apurup Kumar Singh, head of the CSR activities, Emami Foundation, pointed out, “The Emami Foundation is doing a lot of cataract surgeries but our reach has been limited and through such collaborative initiatives we will be able to increase our reach to a greater number of patients.”

The initiative would help in restoring a healthier and normal life to a section of the society and giving them a brighter future. Ankita Chitlangia, junior vice- chair and executive committee, YFLO Kolkata mentioned their dream of opening up several other services in future. “We’re very grateful for the collaboration with AM Medical Centre. We have planned a number of activities for this year for the underprivileged. Along with the cataract surgeries, we are also planning to do dental check-ups for school children.”
