Provided rain doesn't blow the whistle, Mumbai City FC will take on Bengaluru FC for the 131st IndianOil Durand Cup, 2022 final on Sunday at the Vivekananda Yuva Bharati Krirangan Stadium, Salt Lake.
On Saturday, the Mumbai FC players were present for a pre-match presser. However, their plans to tour the city on Saturday had to be called off due to heavy rain.
While the Mumbai FC players defeated Mohammedan SC in the semi-final, the Bengaluru FC won against Hyderabad FC to make it to the final. Both teams have had an excellent run-up to the final.
After the semi-finals, Mumbai FC’s head coach, Des Buckingham, said, “We have not only scored the highest number of goals, we also have the top scorer of the competition in our team. I am super excited with my team’s form in this tournament”.
Buckingham is also keeping a hawk-eye vigil on his players and does not want to take any chances. “The team was supposed to take a tour of Kolkata, but the idea was dropped following the rain. However, the leisure trip might take place on Sunday,” a source added.
