Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan has written to “Respected Didi” asking for “corrective measures to restore the confidence of the people” in the wake of the allegations around school recruitments.
The letter that was in circulation on Tuesday did not have any date but promised support to ensure “quality education” for children in West Bengal.
“I would like to assure you of our continuous support and highest consideration to ensure access to quality education for all children in West Bengal,” the letter signed by Pradhan, the Union minister for education, skill development and entrepreneurship, says.
The letter mentioned how the minister was concerned over the recruitment of teachers and Group C and D staff in government schools.
“The irregularities found in the teacher recruitment scam will certainly hamper the quality of education...,” he wrote.
The Telegraph sought a reaction from state education minister Bratya Basu but did not receive any response to the text message sent to him.
