The couple’s son, daughter-in-law and grandchild were out of station and returned on Wednesday morning to find the them dead, said an officer.

The incident happened in one of the apartments inside a four-storey housing in a residential neighbourhood near the Bypass.

“The son used a duplicate key, which he carries with him, to enter the house and
found his parents dead early on Wednesday,” said
an officer of Garfa police
station.

The police said a purported note left by the couple
has been found which mentioned that they do not hold anyone responsible for their deaths.

The bodies were removed and sent for post-mortem, a police officer said.

“There was rigor mortis (stiffening of the joints and muscles of a body after death) on the bodies indicating
that they have started to decompose. The bodies could be a few days old,” said the
officer.

Officers of Garfa police station have started an unnatural death case.

Police said the exact cause of death would be ascertained only after the post-mortem of the bodies.

An officer of the local police station said they did not receive any complaint from the family till Wednesday evening.
