Covid vaccination drive at special needs centre

A student of the institute said the shot gave them the confidence that they would soon be back to leading regular lives

Individuals with special needs and their family members were vaccinated against Covid at ICanFlyy, an institute for special needs, on Wednesday.

The transport minister and chairman of the board of administrators at the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Firhad Hakim, said: “Vaccination is a must in today’s life. For all of us, our families, our friends to remain healthy, vaccination needs to be our utmost priority.”

A student of the institute said the shot gave them the confidence that they would soon be back to leading regular lives.

“We are inspired to continue with confidence in our journey to enable individuals with special needs and give them more power,” said Minu Budhia, founder director, ICanFlyy.

ICanFlyy is an institute for special needs that was established in 2015 and caters to individuals with autism, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy and learning disabilities, among others.
