A couple was arrested on Thursday after 3.5 kg illegal drugs was recovered from their apartment in Salt Lake.
Acting on a tip-off, the West Bengal Special Task Force (STF) raided the apartment in Sukantanagar on Wednesday evening and it continued overnight.
In the raid, Rs 5.5 lakh in cash and 3.5 kg illegal drugs were found in the apartment. From an adjacent flat, some goats were also seized, STF added.
According to the police, the man and the woman were known in the area as traders who dealt in goats.
The STF also seized several containers of chemicals, believed to be used for manufacturing the drugs.
"We believe that there are other people involved in it. We have also seized the goats they had kept in another flat, which they had taken on rent," an official said.
A case has been registered at the Bidhannagar South police station, and an investigation is underway.
