The ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) semester 2 exams have been tentatively scheduled to start in the last week of April, the ICSE council said on Monday.

The examinations will be held offline, Gerry Arathoon, chief executive and secretary of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Exam-inations (CISCE), told The Telegraph.

“We had said that semester 1 and semester 2 exams would both be held offline.”

On Monday, the CISCE posted a circular on the website that reads: “This has reference to the conduct of the ICSE & ISC 2021-2022 Semester 2 Examinations. The tentative date for the start of the Semester 2 Examinations will be in the last week of April 2022.”

The circular, addressed to the heads of all schools whose students will appear in this year’s ICSE and ISC exams, said the timetables would be announced shortly.

“This will provide the schools sufficient time to both complete and revise the Semester 2 portions of the bifurcated and reduced syllabus,” the circular said.

The council has also “advised” schools not to conduct the “Pre-Board” examinations for the ICSE and ISC candidates unless the syllabi have been completed and thoroughly revised.

“Preferably, the ‘Pre-Board’ examinations should be conducted between end March and April,” the circular said.

Many schools had planned to conduct the pre-board exams for classes X and XII towards the end of February and beginning of March.
