Following the directives of the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence, the “Special Swachhata Campaign 2.0” was organised at the Gun and Shell Factory, Cossipore.

Scrap weighing around 34 metric tonnes was auctioned and disposed of leading to a revenue generation of about Rs 26 lakh. Consequently, 2500 sq ft space has been made available. The campaign was broadly conducted in two phases. In the preparatory phase, between September 14 and 30, files/records to be weeded out and scrap to be disposed of were identified; whereas in the implementation phase from October 2, cleanliness campaigns were launched. Later, the areas cleared were converted into gardens and two-wheeler parking slots.

For better space management in the offices, altogether 4,702 files, nine bunches of papers and 6,500 unused OMR sheets were weeded out.
