Children of AE (Part 2) partied at their community hall on Christmas evening. More than 20 kids turned up, aged as young as two-and-a-half years. They were taken on stage, where they danced around the Christmas tree, sang carols, played games, ate cake and received gifts.

“We don’t know of any other children’s party happening tonight so are glad to be here and enjoying ourselves,” said Aleina Dutta Bhattacharya, a Class IX student who, along with her younger sister Ayona, sang Imagine Dragons’ Believer.

“The celebration is for kids but it brings together their parents and grandparents too. This was the second time we held this Christmas bash and received hearty response,” said Tapas Sengupta, secretary of AE Block Samaj Kalyan Sangha, the residents association of AE Part 2.
