Metro service in the north-south corridor (Dakshineswar to Kavi Subhash) will begin at 2.30pm on March 18, on the occasion of Doljatra, authorities said in a statement on Tuesday.
The number of services has also been reduced to 29 for the festival of colours.
In the east-west corridor, the first Metro will leave the terminal stations (Phoolbagan and Salt Lake Sector V) at 3pm. 20 services will be run in the east-west corridor on Doljatra.
However, the timings for the last Metro remain unchanged for both the Kolkata Metro corridors.
The first service on March 19 will be at 7am as usual and the number of services will be 208 on the occasion of Holi.
Diagnostic centres at Metro stations
In related news, Kolkata Metro Railway authorities have decided to set up blood collection centres for pathological tests at the Metro station premises.
In an attempt to increase amenities for commuters, the Kolkata Metro Railway authorities signed an agreement with AccuHealth Diagnostics on Monday, March 14.
Initially, the centres will be set up at Mahanayak Uttam Kumar and Central Metro stations.
Senior citizens will be entitled to a 10 per cent discount on tests at these centres, the carrier authorities stated.
