Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay of the high court on Tuesday expressed satisfaction with the current primary education board for the way the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) for recruitment in primary schools was conducted on Sunday.
“It seems things are moving in the right direction. The board is doing well. The TET has been conducted successfully,” Justice Gangopadhyay said during the hearing of a case not related to the primary TET.
The lawyer who appears for the West Bengal Board of Primary Education was present in the court when the judge made the comment.
The lawyer submitted that nearly 7 lakh candidates had appeared in Sunday’s TET. “The OMR sheetsand other documents related to TET have been preserved properly,” the lawyer said.
The judge said: “Good.”
The judge had recently said he would not make any adverse comments about anyone while hearing cases because those were being wrongly interpreted.
On Tuesday, Kalyanmoy Ganguly, a former president of the state secondary education board, and Subires Bhattacharyya, who was WBSSC chairman from 2014 to 2018, filed bail petitions. They are in custody in connection with alleged corruption in recruitment.
