A high court judge on Monday pulled up the heads of three government-aided schools for failing to issue admit cards to Madhyamik examinees days before the start of the exams.

The Class X board exams, conducted by the state secondary education board, are scheduled to start on February 2.

The students who are yet to get the admit cards are from Jangra Adarsha High School in Baguiati, on the northern fringes of the city, Ashoknagar Sourya Moulana Azad School, in North 24-Parganas, and a school in Murshidabad.

Justice Biswajit Basu got furious after hearing about this from the lawyers representing the examinees.

The judge asked the headmasters of the three schools to appear before him on Tuesday “along with money” and explain why they failed to issue the documents.

“Otherwise, I will ask the police to arrest you all,” Justice Basu said.

Lawyer Sutanu Patra, who appeared for the board, submitted that admit cards could not be sent to the three schools as the required details were not sent to the board.

Last week, the judge had imposed a fine of Rs 50,000 on the headmaster of a school in Maldah for not submitting the documents required for the registration of the Madhyamik examinees from the school.
