Bangalore-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing company Altigreen has joined hands with the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (CAIML) of Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata for improving the energy efficiency of EVs using machine learning techniques.

Data generated by Altigreen electric vehicles will undergo sophisticated statistical analysis, using state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms to augment energy efficiency in EVs, which are being extensively used and operating under various environmental conditions.

Altigreen CEO and co-founder Amitabh Saran said the adoption of commercial EVs was picking up fast and that it would be the right time to deliver products that demonstrated the highest efficiency under very dynamic Indian conditions.

“We are excited to collaborate with Altigreen as this is our first industry outreach initiative in the emerging space of electric vehicles. During our initial talks with the company, we saw a strong cultural match in terms of their R&D-based approach to developing engineering solutions,” said CAIML member Amitava Bandyopadhyay.
