St Xavier’s College, Park Street, will hold convocation on February 19 with full attendance of the graduating students and in strict adherence to Covid protocol.
From every department, the first 20 students, based on the marks secured, were invited to attend the convocation in 2021 to avoid assembly as much as possible.
The rest got the certificates sent through post.
“In the 2022 convocation, all the 2,885 graduating students will be invited. A pandal will be set on the football ground covering a wider area so that those attending the ceremony can maintain physical distance,” said principal Father Dominic Savio.
A college official said since in-person classes resumed on November 16, they decided to invite all the graduating students for the convocation.
During the upcoming convocation, students will be gifted the convocation gown as memento, said the principal.
On previous occasions students were asked to return the gown after the ceremony.
Those who will attend the event will have their body temperature checked with thermal guns and guards and volunteers will ensure that protocol is followed.
Only the gold medals will be awarded from the dais. Final degree certificates will be distributed from the respective offices after the ceremony.
