An officer of the Bidhannagar commissionerate said they had received a tip-off that a cache of crackers had been stashed inside these two houses.

Separate teams from the Lake Town police station raided the houses in Dakshindari under the Lake Town police station jurisdiction and in Rajarhat.

The move came days after chief Minister Mamata Banerjee asked the police to find and raid any such place where crackers are being stored after 12 people died and several others got injured after an explosion razed an illegal cracker factory at Khadikul village in East Midnapore’s Egra on May 16.
