YFLO Kolkata, in collaboration with Isha Yogashala, organised a yoga workshop for its members on June 19 to celebrate International Yoga Day (June 21). The workshop, titled ‘Elevate Your Wholeness’, was all about celebrating the power of yoga in elevating us as individuals. Members from all walks of life participated in the workshop. The serene venue of Isha Yogashala on Russel Street served as the perfect backdrop for this transformative experience. Under the guidance of experienced and certified instructors, participants performed various asanas to rejuvenate and empower their minds and body.

The workshop started with a warm-up session, followed by a series of asanas designed to promote physical strength, flexibility and balance. Next, the participants went on to do Pranayama and the session was organised to cater to the mental health and well-being of the participants who are highly exposed to anxiety and stress in their day-to-day life. Attendees were encouraged to listen to their bodies and embrace their individual capabilities while respecting their limits.

The session not only emphasised the physical aspects of yoga but also delved into the importance of mindfulness and meditation. Through guided meditation sessions, participating YFLO members were encouraged to focus on their thoughts, cultivate inner peace and experience a profound sense of connection with themselves and their surroundings. The atmosphere pulsated with positive energy and a collective commitment to personal growth.

The asanas culminated with a rejuvenating relaxation session, allowing participants to bask in the tranquillity and serenity they had cultivated throughout the day. The transformative power of yoga was evident as the participants left with radiant smiles, invigorated bodies and a renewed sense of purpose. The yoga workshop served as a reminder of the transformative potential of this ancient practice. It instilled a deep appreciation for the union of mind, body, and spirit, leaving participants inspired to continue their yoga journey and embrace a holistic approach to well-being in their everyday lives.

“I think there was a need to reinstate the values that our ancestors have given us. Yoga doesn’t only transform your body, but it activates every organ which is important for our overall balance and growth. I think in today’s hectic world, people are filled with anxiety and stress but I believe 10 minutes of yoga every day can elevate their lifestyle and wholeness, which was the primary thought process for holding the event,” said Priyanka Agarwal, chairperson, YFLO.
