His style mirrors his mood and is more often than not a mix of gentlemanly suits and casual, effortlessly stylish looks. Yash Daasguptaa spent a day shooting this special lookbook for The Telegraph at the sprawling Roots on Chowringhee Road and loved every bit of it.

Yash is cool and casual in Zara. “Keeping the current trend of oversized jackets and pants in mind, I have curated a funky casual bomber jacket look for Yash,” says Tanvi.

Your style is casual as well as formal. What are we most likely to find in your wardrobe?

My wardrobe compromises mostly ‘mood’ buying and it’s mostly black and white. I do buy colours too but rarely wear them! (Laughs) I love simple and classy styles like denims and tees. This is mostly what I prefer for a regular day, though I heart my formals too.

Whose style advice do you pay heed to?

I’m usually not fussy about dressing up, though very opinionated when it comes to choosing my work apparels. I follow my heart and choose clothes as per my mood and occasion.

Who are some of your favourite stylish actors?

Brad Pitt, Hugh Jackman. Though not an actor, I like David Beckham too.

What is one thing you will definitely try this year?

Maybe I’ll try a bit of colours, use a bit of layering and the trending fashion of prints-on-prints. So, yes, I might experiment a tad bit.

A stylish film of all time...

All the Bond films. I love classy suits and boots with sheen. The Great Gatsby is an all-time favourite.

Whose wardrobe would you like to steal?

I just like stealing attention and that does not entirely depend on just clothes. It is all about one’s personality.

Yash cuts a handsome frame in this Agape look. “As much as oversized clothes are in, bare-fitted blazers are a win-win for men in 2023,” says Tanvi.

What would you never wear?

I never say never, but yes, I would definitely refrain from wearing very colourful clothes or follow fashion blindly.

What would you wear 24x7 given a chance?

Given a chance one would find me in my gymwear 24x7! (Laughs) Honestly, loose tees, comfy shorts or even without clothes if stranded on an island (laughs).

One style tip for your fans…

The joy of dressing is an art. Do get inspired by fashion and trends but dress for yourself and no one else!
