The R|Elan™ X Varun Bahl showcase at Lakme Fashion Week in partnership with FDCI had the designer's favourite elements — nature and Kashmir. 'Inner Bloom' was splashed with florals in different avatars. There were gentle prints and embroidery married to prints on lehngas, jackets, capes and trousers. The colours included pastels as well as rich reds, purples and the classic black. There was a certain flow to the garments and a sense of romance. "It's that time of the year. Everyone is in a great mood and even our country is blooming, hence I came up with the name 'Inner Bloom' and of course nature and my growing up years in Kashmir. I have always been very close to it. Yet another chapter in flora and fauna and nature," Varun later told t2.

What is his sense of romance? "The play of colours, dressing up beautifully. This is the festive season and love is in the air," he smiled. The emotion of the collection was one of softness. Is that how Varun saw life too? "I think we need love and softness in this world," he agreed.
Varun's men looked dapper in prints. "The Indian man is today extremely experimental and they take more time to get ready than women today and to choose their outfits. They are fit and they want to look good," he signed off.
