A cuppa uniting the country

The emotion for tea is similar in all parts of India. No matter where you go, a cup of tea can bring people closer. As Madhushree Basu of @Pikturenama says, “It is the warmest ice-breaker” in a Republic Day special reel, we resonate with it dearly! Nilgiri or Darjeeling, Assam or Munnar — a cup of tea holds the same emotion. In India, there’s a cup for every mood. There’s a cup of tea to energise, a cup for your evening adda, a cup for every break and much more. Like many other things, chai is a part of our culture, uniting the country as one.

Republic Day nostalgia

For many of us, who are now dealing with adulting and leaving behind our sweet childhood, this reel by @_potatoface__ is sheer nostalgia. Republic Day would mean starting off with a special function at school. After which, we would get a packet of snacks – that felt like a reward for our days of hard work. It would often have a few toffees, a savoury item and a laddoo. This packet would often be relished while watching the New Delhi parade on TV. This short reels brings us back to those day!

Parade on New Delhi's Rajpath

Watching Delhi’s parade on Republic Day or Independence Day is always fascinating. The parade starts from Kartavya Path, where the President of India unfurls the Tricolour and salutes the marching contingents. The parade showcases the various facets of India’s heritage, such as folk dances, musical instruments, regional costumes, and historical monuments. The parade culminates with a thrilling show by the Indian Air Force. The essence of the parade is aptly captured by @fantasticdelhi through a reel.

Republic Day on Red Road, Kolkata

The Republic Day parade on Red Road is equally fascinating and it takes place after many days of rehearsals. The parade features the units from all three military forces — the Army, Air Force and Navy. The Kolkata Police also displays its units — Winners, Disaster Management Group, and the RAF — at the show. Cultural programmes and stunts are showcased in the presence of the governor and chief minister. Here's a glimpse of the parade this year in a reel by @amnatureboy.

Kili Paul’s tribute to India

India has time and again proven to entice people from all over the world with its heritage, art and culture, traditions, and entertainment. @kili_paul, who hails from Mindu Tulieni, a remote village in Tanzania, started making reels lip-syncing and dancing to Bollywood songs. He soon went viral for his love for India and Bollywood music. On Republic Day, he pays a tribute to India in a trending reel.
