Nemichand Bamalwa & Sons (J) Park Street, that has a history of trend-setting industry norms, transparency and honesty in the industry, marked their anniversary (today) with a smashing fashion shoot with Tolly beauty Nusrat Jahan and celebrity stylist Anaita Shroff Adajania exclusively with The Telegraph, showcasing their brand new collection styled in a contemporary way. Magic was created with four central looks with jewellery that spelt tradition, royalty and class. Snapshots from the look book...
A black leather dress with an oversized jacket with exaggerated sleeves for the drama, teamed up with layers of rubies, carved emeralds, polki and pearls, sounds incredible, right? That was exactly the mood of the look that was one of Nusrat’s fave looks from the shoot. “This season is all about go big or go home! I have paired the jacket with a slim leather slip dress with the stunning necklace that doesn’t need any earrings. With the black, this creates a strong intoxicating look for a night out,” said Anaita.
“I loved the whole grungy look of this one! The messy hair, smokey eyes, leather dress balanced with the elegance of what would ideally be a bridal necklace, was fantastic!” said Nusrat.

Bengal’s nakshi work is well-known all over the world but would you dare wear it with a western outfit? Why not?! Nusrat looked riveting in the cut-out maxi dress that she wore with an antique gold necklace studded with semi-precious rubies and jadau stones and tiered jhumkis that literally made her look like a golden girl! “The pleating on this dress creates a romantic feel along with collar-like jewels that create a strong statement. Everything has clean lines, yet it highlights one’s beauty without taking away from it,” explained Anaita.
“This is my favourite pick among all the four looks! Traditional and intricate statement jewellery like this we would wear only for a wedding but I loved how we broke the monotony and wore a flowy dress with it. This look is very me,” said Nusrat.

Nusrat looks regal in tone-on-tone separates that she wore with The Palatial Polki necklace studded with pearls, emerald and polkis. “It’s lovely to mix textures, especially bandhni with silk like we did for this look. I love tone-on-tone and we went the regal way by styling this look with elegant drops created in a Hyderabadi setting that has a lovely rectangle emerald that shows off the lovely green,” said Anaita. The look is completed with long chandelier earrings that creates “a lovely spark and shine around the face”.
Outfit: Pooja & Keyur
Minimalist, ethereal yet empowering defines this look. Nusrat is wearing some delicate diamond necklace consisting of round, pear and marquise-shaped diamonds along with a chic diamond maangtika and diamond bangles. “You can be anywhere in the world and the suit will look fine. I liked the feathers on the sleeves and that combined with the cut-diamond jewellery created an intoxicating combination. Cocktail night-out with friends and this can easily take you from day to night,” said Anaita.
