The best travel partner has four legs, a furry body, a cute fluffy butt and a wet nose! It’s best when you hit the road with your companion for life — your dog. Travelling with your dog can be super fun and a good experience for their physical and mental well-being. Before you set out on the road with your four-legged best friend, chalk out a perfect plan and list out the itineraries beforehand to ensure nothing goes wrong while you’re there.
Making it safe and fun can be a challenge but The Telegraph has some creative ideas to help your dog enjoy the vacation to the fullest! Here’s a list of things to do:
CHOOSE A SPOT WITH LAKES AND TRAILS FOR TREKKING
A dog loves adventure, so taking them out on terrains gives them an opportunity to run aroud, go on decompression walks and explore nature. It is a great method to keep your dogs engaged and active on a vacation.
TAKE THEM SWIMMING
Our furry friends love swimming and it’s a great method to bond with them. So, take them to spots full of safe lakes or a pet-friendly resort with a pet pool. Let them splash around and watch them stick their tongue out and look unbearably cute!
“As a pet parent, we all have dreamt about taking a trip with our furry babies. Keeping this in mind, for the first time in Calcutta we have arranged a Summer PAW-CATION “Beach Time Edition” to Mandarmani in collaboration with Calcutta Pawfect pet store (owned by Sreemoyee Mitra) and FurBabies pet store (owned by Avishek Mazumdar) between May 5 and 7 this year. We’re planning some activities like sea beach diving, swimming in the pool with paw buddies, some socialisation, photoshoot, tasty treats and more. We’ll be accompanied by our handlers and groomers and also veterinary doctors to ensure your pooch’s safety,” said Sayantani Chatterjee who co-owns the Furry Tales Dog Creche on the EM Bypass (near Ruby, Anandapur Police Station) along with her hubby Saptarshi Dasgupta.
INNOVATE GAMES
Play innovative games to keep the furry babies agile. Frisbee, flyball, relay races, ball pit and more activities can be incorporated to keep your dogs hooked!
CARRY TREATS
Our pups love listening to the phrase “Good Boy!” So, carry their favourite treats and call them a good boy or girl if they’ve been well-behaved and treat them with their favourite munchies. Spoil them more than usual when on vacation mode!
