Suchi’s by Sucheta Chakravarty is an organic skincare and haircare brand offering handmade, home-made solutions to various skin and hair problems. Starting out as a hobby in 2019, Sucheta formally launched her brand on social media platforms in 2020. Her brand is an outcome of her own lifestyle choices of shifting to organic products to overcome the harm caused to the skin and hair by the use of various cosmetic products.
“In my college days, when I was into modelling, we were taught to use natural products to take care of our hair and skin. It was a kind of hobby for me. Suchi’s is the result of my long-standing love for natural products. I have always been a stickler for home remedies for skin issues or general maintenance of the skin. Post-college, chasing deadlines and daily grind of my job hardly left me with any time for the kitchen remedies to save my skin, literally. After working for more than a decade, I finally decided to take a break. The ensuing leisure provided me with time to take stock of my overall health, including my skin and hair. I went back to my old fixes and also started reading up to gather more knowledge. This is when the idea of Suchi’s germinated,” she said.
Her initial customers were friends and family but presently her clientele is spread over 19 states and union territories in India as well internationally in places like USA, the UK, Bahrain, Bangladesh and Switzerland. “In 2019, I attended a workshop to learn the skills needed at a professional level. I started making organic soaps and shampoos. I would give these to my friends and relatives to use. And as they loved my products I immediately started posting on social media. Orders began to trickle in. I will soon be visiting Kerala to complete another formal training,” added Sucheta.

The USP of her brand lies in providing customers with personalised products considering their health issues, hair and skin problems and climatic conditions of the place they are inhabiting. “I started with making bathing bars and face kits. I have to interview the people who want to buy from me. They are all customised. During the pandemic, we explored the ways to source the raw materials directly from the places they are produced in. As a result, we at Suchi’s get our coconut oil and coffee directly from Kerala. The cold-pressed almond oil and saffron comes directly from our vendor in Kashmir. Currently Suchi’s inventory includes bathing bars, scrubs — body and scalp, face serums, face packs, hair oils, body oils, hair masks, body butter and night creams,” added Sucheta.
Coffee Scalp Scrub takes care of scalp health with coffee’s excellent exfoliating properties that remove dead cells, dandruff, oil, dirt, product built-up from the scalp that clog our scalp pores, thus stimulating hair growth. Coffee contains antioxidants and nutrients that are beneficial for hair growth.
The herbs-infused coconut hair oil has 13 ingredients infused in virgin unbleached coconut oil that is kept in sunlight for a week. It improves scalp health and caters to various hair problems like hair fall, frizzy and damaged hair, dandruff, itchy scalp.
The different types of body butters include Rose, Lavender, Saffron and Chocolate. These body butters are made from raw, unrefined African shea butter, kokum butter and cocoa butter mixed with cold-pressed oils and essential oils.
Three kinds of paraben- and sulphate-free shampoos include Hydrating shampoo for frizzy and dry hair, Anti Dandruff shampoo for controlling dandruff and itchy scalp and Hibiscus shampoo for overall hair growth, keratin treatment and healthy hair.
Instant glow saffron face serum helps in reducing pigmentation, protecting against UV rays, healing scars and blemishes. Possessing anti-ageing properties, it gives an instant glow on the face.
