Take a pen and jot down all the healthy habits or goals that come to mind. You fill the pages with text and select to number them. You give them the name ‘NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS’.
And this is where things get scary. You feel your knees tremble as you look ahead to yet another new year because you have so many items on your to-do list. It’s time to be realistic and hold on to the things that matter most.
TT has listed five achievable goals for you as you enter the new year. These will feel easy to pursue and give you that long-needed glow-up you’ve been working towards. Focusing on your general well-being is a terrific way to enhance yourself in the upcoming year, whether through one of these tips or another simple self-care activity. Concentrating on a lifestyle change instead of a task you must complete will improve your life in the long run.
1. Build a healthier sleep routine:
Wondering how you wake up tired every morning or feel sluggish throughout the day? One of the reasons might be a lack of sound sleep. Doctors say healthy adults need around at least seven hours of quality, uninterrupted sleep to feel well-rested. Avoid excessive caffeine intake, a heavy workout, or a large meal before you sleep.
2. Make the most out of your mornings:
Heard the phrase, “How you spend your morning decides how the rest of your day goes”? Well, as cliche as it may sound, it’s true. Waking up late after snoozing your alarm for the ninth time, skipping breakfast, and running to college or work is the precursor to a stressful day.
You don’t have to get up at five in the morning to have two hours to get dressed slowly if you want to change your morning routine. Instead, focus on your present morning routine and any tiny adjustments you might make to make getting ready less stressful.
3. Start practising mindfulness:
Practising mindfulness does not mean meditating for one hour straight or chanting mantras. It involves doing everything in your power to practise gratitude for what you now have, where you are, and who you are at this precise moment. According to psychologists, committing to mindfulness can help you improve in less than a year.
4. Learn a new skill:
2023 is starting, and there are many career options to make the most of. You don’t want to feel left behind. You will acquire courage and confidence as you master a new skill, enabling you to conquer your fears and anxieties. You’ll experience more control over your life. Public speaking, graphic designing, picking up a foreign language, and mastering the art of networking are highly relevant skills you could try in 2023.
5. Do something fun each day:
Fun in New Year resolutions? Weren’t they supposed to be tedious tasks to be accomplished? Becoming better doesn’t always have to be soul-sucking. Incorporate leisure into your daily activities. Have you been meaning to try out a new activity but haven’t had the time? Now is the moment to give it a shot! Another great option to fit leisure into your daily life is simply having a buddy over for dinner or attending a local event. Do something which feels fulfilling to you each day.
