Teachers play an important role in shaping us — we spend a significant amount of time in their company during our formative years, and later too. They are our guardians away from home. We all have had a teacher whom we remember fondly. Some, we remember because they inspired us and impacted our lives. Ahead of Teachers’ Day, My Kolkata lists some Instagram reels that perfectly portray different kinds of teachers — the fun, strict, inspiring and much more.

The ‘no-nonsense’ teacher

Every school has that one (or many!) ‘no-nonsense’ teacher, who treats everyone equally. They have their own set of rules and no one can break them. Be it the backbenchers or the topper, no one messes with them. @avidixit10, in a very relatable reel, shows a fun conversation between the no-nonsense teacher and the student who tries to be the teacher’s pet. What happens when the two meet? Check out the reel!

That one ‘angel’ teacher

While we were scared of the strict teacher, we absolutely loved that teacher who was an absolute angel. They understood the problems of us students, cooperated with us, helped us in need, and sometimes even saved us from the wrath of other teachers. These teachers have a separate fan base. With the senior students, they were like friends. And if you had a teacher like this, you probably are still in touch with them. Instagrammer @hellopreksha_ perfectly mimics the angel teacher.

The strict English teacher

English teachers have their own mannerisms. They are articulate and well-spoken. They do not tolerate students speaking in their class in vernacular. While most of them can be lenient and frank, some are strict. A strict English teacher can also be a little sarcastic at times. As students, we might have not liked them, but now we all look back and find their comments hilarious. Isn't it? @analeecerejo mimics one such teacher and we think she is absolutely spot on!

The teacher who made learning fun

Some teachers have the talent of making ‘boring’ subjects fun. Like @dancingprofessor1936! This fun professor has cracked the code to a fun way of teaching. In his reels, he uses dance steps to impart knowledge. In a recent one, he teaches about different mathematical symbols while dancing. The steps are so accurate that we bet you cannot forget them if you watch the reel. We wish every school and college had a teacher like him!

The enthusiastic primary school teacher

Primary school teachers are always on their toes. They are always thinking about how to get the children interested in studies. In the process, they pick up everything from art to music skills. Every enthusiastic primary school teacher has some fun ways of teaching. As innovative as the dancing maths teacher, @tchr_khushboo went viral recently for the way she teaches Hindi. She uses different hand movements to show the different matras to the students. The effort of the teacher has garnered her a lot of media and public attention as well.

The teacher not on social media

Many of us were in school when texting became a big thing. The effects were visible in the way we wrote fast. Do you remember writing down notes in a hurry and sometimes using the ‘SMS language’ to save time? ‘You’ became ‘U’, and ‘to’ turned into ‘2’. When the teachers found out, they were appalled. The social media influence is twice as much these days. and the teachers are still struggling with the Gen Z and Gen Alpha lingo — especially the ones who keep away from social media. This reel by @hisukriti is hilarious and a perfect example of how language isn't ‘languaging’ for this generation!
